When You come to our restaurant, You will walk through the Middle Ages in a few steps. The entrance of “Gloria” has been cut through the old Town Wall, that was built more than 100 years before Kolumbus discovered America. To symbolize the tie with the old hansa town, there is a night watchman’s relief dating from the Middle Ages over the staircase of the entrance. The street through which You come to the restaurant is over 600 years old. The restaurant is still younger – 60 years passed from the opening of “Gloria” in 1997.
Many heads of states, ministers, diplomats, known scientists and cultural people, among others the pope Johannes Paulus, have enjoyed the meals, the stylish interior and the profound atmosphere of “Gloria”. We hope that they will remember these meetings here with content and pleasant memories. The restaurant has been decorated in the 30s style. We would like our guests to feel the peaceful solidity of the time.
The kitchen of the restaurant is in the hands of skilled chefs who have won the recognition of our guests. There are more than 700 different wines from all over the world in our Wine Cellar. The most expensive and unique accomplishments of the wine world are also represented – Chateau Petrus and Chateau d’Yguem, the delicate and magical Domaine de la Romanee Conti, the mystical Sassicaia, the charming Angelo Gaja Barbaresco and many other wines among which You may find interesting discoveries. We hope that the time spent with us passes pleasantly and would be memorable.
